I can relate to this essay in so many ways — the burnout/exhaustion coupled with things that are outside our control, the chaos, the everything-ness. And also the fear instilled in us as young kids for making mistakes, usually resulting in perfectionism, which leads to...(the list goes on)

I love your writing. Your essays are always a pleasure to take a beat and read (not just skim).

I really appreciate and resonate with this writing piece. I too have often felt like the carefulness of doing everything “right” isn’t enough and sometimes the floodgates will open and BS will come out no matter what. I’m also learning to separate my sense of self worth from my mistakes, shortcomings or the put downs people have made to me. Slowly but surely I hope to see the light again.
